Grooming

Well groomed dog outside

Here at Twin Peaks Veterinary Center, we are proud to be able to offer professional pet grooming services with our professional groomer, Suzan Koch.

When you bring your pet in to see our groomer, you can expect a relaxing experience that includes a bath, hair trim, and nail trim. We can also recommend the correct products for your pet, including hypoallergenic shampoos and conditioners. We also offer oatmeal shampoos and deep conditioners to help soften your pet’s coat, and we can perform anal gland expressions and teeth brushing.

To schedule your dog or cat’s pet grooming session, call us at (520) 572-8300.

Benefits of Dog Grooming

Dogs should be groomed regularly in order to remove loose hair and prevent mats, which could restrict your pet’s movement and create sores and red areas. Regular dog grooming helps detect skin problems, like lumps and bumps, so that they can be examined in a timely manner. Having your dog professionally groomed also means that your pet’s nails will be trimmed and if any cuts or scrapes are noticed on the feet, an antiseptic can be applied to prevent infections. Professional pet groomers are also trained to notice the presence of external parasites, like fleas, ticks and ear mites so that you can get your pet prompt treatment.

Benefits of Cat Grooming

Cat grooming offers all the same benefits as dog grooming. Your cat will smell nice, and his or her coat will be free of mats and tangles. Removing excess and loose fur on your cat also has the added benefit of reducing the amount of hair that they lick off themselves and potentially ingest, which may mean fewer hairballs. A professional groomer will also trim your cat’s claws and look for signs of external parasites and skin conditions.

Grooming with Our Tucson Veterinarian

Our Tucson veterinarian stays in close contact with our groomer during your pet’s appointment. If any odd smells, skin sores, lumps or abnormalities are found, our pet groomer immediately informs our veterinarian. This allows our veterinarian to stay up-to-date on the health of your pet so that you can be informed of the treatment options.

How often should I have my pet groomed?
