Beth Neuman, DVM
Dr. Neuman founded Twin Peaks Veterinary Center to combine high quality client and patient care, state-of-the-art medical equipment and services, and a staff of committed veterinary professionals under one roof. Five years as an emergency veterinarian convinced her that it was important that Twin Peaks Veterinary Center offer not only preventative medicine for furry family members, but also evening and weekend urgent care services. With those elements in place, the full slate of veterinary services required to keep the canine and feline members of your family healthy are offered.
Dr. Neuman received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Minnesota in 2004. Her special areas of interest are emergency medicine, internal medicine, and endocrinology, with an emphasis on client-oriented services. In her long ago life, she was a writer, a customer service agent and even managed a movie theater. She then spent several years working as a veterinary technician before deciding to pursue a career as a veterinarian. She has been married for twelve years, has three children and shares her home with two dogs and a revolving door of foster animals. Her devotion to her own family and pets help keep her focused on the need to make veterinary care a family oriented service for the members of her community.
Rebecca Laton, DVM
Dr. Rebecca Laton graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. She worked in Alexandria, Minnesota for several years in a mixed animal practice. For her first few years she worked with dairy, elk, small ruminants and small animals. Dr. Laton transitioned to smalll animal medicine exclusively by her fifth year in practice. Dr. Laton has been in Tucson since 2010 and joined Twin Peaks Veterinary Center in 2012. When not working, Dr. Laton spends her time enjoying her 2 adopted daughters from China. She also loves to travel, quilt and read.
Brian Shear, DVM
Dr. Brian Shear grew up in Missouri and graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a degree in biology. He then worked in a research lab for 3 years prior to attending veterinary school at Mississippi State University; graduating in 2007. Dr. Shear’s interests are surgery and wound care. He lives with is wife Renee, their two cats and their two dogs. In his spare time he enjoys target shooting, motorcycle racing, hiking and exploring the surrounding desert and mountains.
Laura Battraw, DVM
Dr. Laura Battraw graduated from the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Glasgow, Scotland in 2014. She worked as a veterinary technician during and before attending vet school. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two cats as well as traveling, cooking and reading.
Brittney Carpenter, DVM
Dr. Brittney Carpenter has spent her entire veterinary career in small animal general and emergency practice here in Tucson. She is a 2006 graduate of our very own University of Arizona, and went on to receive her DVM degree from Washington State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2010. Her special interests include dentistry, surgery, wound management, and physical rehabilitation.
When not at the clinic, Dr. Carpenter enjoys fun times with the family, including her daughters, her dogs, and her cats. She can often be found strolling the neighborhood and walking paths with the dogs, and especially loves spending the summer sunsets poolside with the family.
